Plan your trip to Salomon Skyline Scotland 2023
We’re excited to announce that Skyline Scotland is back, and this year, it will be even better than ever!
Here is our official guide to planning your trip, so you’re ready to go when entries open!

Location
Salomon Skyline Scotland will be located in the heart of Kinlochleven near the Ice Factor.
Here you will be able to find registration, the start/finish line and the bustling event village. Surrounded by the lofty hills and spectacular ridges, it’s the perfect place for a weekend of trail and sky running!

Shuttle Buses
Following last year’s success, we are delighted that Shuttle Buses are coming back in 2023.
There will be collection from (and return to) Fort William, Ballachulish, Glencoe Village and Caolasnacon Caravan & Camping Park.
When you sign up for your race, you will be able to book your shuttle bus for only £6 return.
Not only does it make it easier and cheaper to travel to the event, but it’s also a great environmentally friendly option!
Travelling from abroad
The nearest airports to Kilochleven are Edinburgh and Glasgow.
From Glasgow Airport
Driving (direct to Kinlochleven - the Event Village) - we recommend pre-booking your hire car from the airport: ~2.5 hours
Coach/bus*: ~3 hours with 1 change as follows:
- Coach from Glasgow Airport to Glen Coe - operator SCL (Scottish Citylink) service '914/915/926'
- then a local bus - operator SHI (Shiel Buses) service 'N44' from Glen Coe to Kinlochleven
From Edinburgh Airport
Driving (to Kinlochleven - the Event Village) - we recommend pre-booking your hire car from the airport: ~3 hours
Coach/bus*: ~5 hours with 2 changes as follows:
- From Edinburgh Airport to Glasgow - operator SCL (Scottish Citylink) service 'AIR'
- then from Glasgow to Glen Coe - operator SCL (Scottish Citylink) service '914/915/926'
- then a local bus - operator SHI (Shiel Buses) service 'N44' from Glen Coe to Kinlochleven
*We recommend using Traveline Scotland to plan your journey by coach/bus
Where to Stay
Accommodation in Kinlochleven is relatively limited so it is recommended to book in advance. However, with the shuttle buses, it is now easy to travel to the event from the nearby towns.
There is plenty of accommodation in nearby Fort William, Ballachulish, Glencoe Village and the popular Caolasnacon Caravan & Camping Park, so these are great options!
Please don't expect to just be able to arrive on the day and put up a tent anywhere in Kinlochleven! We recommend using Visit Scotland, AirBnB, Discover Glencoe and Hostels.com to aid your search.

Where to park
There will be some Event Parking available at the event centre, however this will be limited. There will be more information released about this nearer to the time.
Where possible, we recommend taking advantage of the shuttle bus service – then you don't need to worry about finding a space!
Event Village
The Event Village is always a highlight of the weekend, with some tasty food options, exciting outdoor brands, talks from athletes and other fun activities. It’s definitely worth sticking around after your race to take advantage of all the options available.
