What is Skyline Scotland?

17th Aug 2016

Soaring ridges, exposed traverses and precipitous drops. Fast and light over rough and technical terrain. A fusion of alpinism and mountain running.

Skyline Scotland™ will feature three of the highest-octane mountain running races in the UK on Friday 16th - Sunday 18th September 2016. Will you be taking part or coming to Kinlochleven to soak up the race atmosphere and ring a cowbell to cheer on the skyrunners?

Spectating Opportunities

Spectators are very welcome! We want to grow the local and outdoor community support for the race to comparable levels to those found at the big European races in years to come.

  1. At the Event Centre, the Ice Factor in Kinlochleven (where all three starts and finishes will be) we will be providing screens with live results and the live GPS tracking feed as the competitors progress around the routes.
  2. You can intercept the runners out on the course at low-level spectator zones using our handy spectator schedules (and live GPS tracking) to predict when they will arrive.
  3. We will also be offering professionally guided walking groups to high-level locations on the course led by local mountain guides at £10 per person.

In addition, two eagerly anticipated speaker and film nights will take place on Friday 16th and Saturday 17th September at Kinlochleven High School, just a 5 minute walk from the Ice Factor. We encourage you to sign-up now to avoid missing out on the unique opportunity to hear these inspirational talks, from Jasmin Paris, Tom Owens, and last year’s winner Joe Symonds, and watch some incredible films (limited entries will be available on the door).

See the full programme for both nights.
