3) TRANSPORT

Lift Sharing

With over 2000 participants expected, there’s a good opportunity for you to find a lift share in the official Salomon Skyline Scotland Facebook Group.

Car Parking

Please ensure you follow signs and our car parking team's directions upon arrival. There is plenty of parking adjacent to the Event Village (see map above) in Kinlochleven for a nominal charge of £1 per visit with all proceeds going to the local Kinlochleven Community Benefit Fund - please bring along plenty of change.

If you arrive in a camper van you can purchase a weekend camper van pass on arrival for £10.

Need more info on how to get to Kinlochleven and accommodation options?

Please do not park on the residential streets around Kinlochleven.

You may strictly not pitch a tent in or around the car park OR on the village green OR other non-officially designated camping locations nearby (yes we've been asked and yes we know accommodation is tricky to find!)

We would kindly ask you to support minimising disturbance to the local community who are being very supportive and accommodating of the event taking place on their doorstep.

4) SPECIFIC RACE DETAILS

Who will be on the start line?

Registration

It's mandatory! No registration? No start! See above.

Kit Check

Please ensure you have every item of kit on the Mandatory kit list (which can be found on the relevant race pages - go on, check it now!), we would especially like to highlight the need for waterproof trousers, and appropriate shoes (fell or mountain running shoes with decent lugs (i.e. decent depth and quality of tread) will be IMPORTANT AND BEST in both ascent and descent).

Please arrive in good time for the start as there may be a kit check as you enter the start pen. Remember, “No Kit, No Go”.  Anyone in a position of note at the end of the race will be kit checked, and anyone found without the mandatory kit will be disqualified.

Remember: you must not fold your race number!

Course Closure Times

  • 15:30 for the Salomon Mamores VK
  • 19:00 for the Salomon Ben Nevis Ultra
  • 19:00 for the Salomon Ring of Steall Skyrace
  • 12:00 for the Grey Mare’s Trail Race
  • 12:00 for the Loch Eilde Mòr Trail Race
  • 13:00 for the Three Mealls Trail Race
  • 21:00 for the Salomon Glen Coe Skyline

Medal

All finishers completing the course (strictly within the course opening times) will receive a finisher's medal at the finish line (for the VK you will collect yours from the Grey Mare's Car Park that you will pass by as you return from the summit - and only once you have handed in your timing chip).

GPS Course Download

The route is well marked with flags which must be closely followed during the race. However, some competitors like to have a digital version of the route which is accessible via 'The Route' section on the individual races' Information page on this website.

Please note: You must follow the race signs and flagged course on race day and NOT rely on a GPS track for following the route.

Event Rules

For the avoidance of doubt, ignorance of the event rules is no excuse and failure to comply with them may result in disqualification. Please check these rules carefully to AVOID BEING DISQUALIFIED e.g. no outside assistance, no headphones and more.
