1. Summit Ben Nevis - the highest mountain in the UK

The Salomon Ben Nevis Ultra™ journeys through remote valleys, over thrilling ridges and finally to the highest mountain top in the UK - the mighty Ben Nevis. At 1,345 metres in elevation, the views up here are pretty amazing with endless mountains and sea lochs stretching to the horizon in every direction. Once summited, enjoy an exciting descent as you plummet back down to the Glen Nevis valley.

2. Run along the spectacular CMD Arete

Interested to discover the best way to run to the summit of the UK's highest mountain? Well, say hello to the stunning CMD Arete. Connecting the Munros of Carn Mor Dearg and Ben Nevis this spectacular ridge provides an exciting challenge to ultra runners with sections of easy scrambling and some incredible views of the north face of Ben Nevis. Definitely not one to be missed!

3. Follow in the footsteps of Champions

Many famous faces have travelled to Scotland to take on the challenge of the Salomon Ben Nevis Ultra™. This was especially true of the 2018 edition which was also the ULTRA Skyrunning World Championships. Jonathan Albon took the title for the men with Ragna Debats coming in first for the women. Other well-known ultra runners taking the wins include: Munro round record holder Donnie Campbell and Nepali Salomon athlete Mira Rai.

4. Push your limits

If you are looking for an exciting ultra running challenge than this race is for you. The Salomon Ben Nevis Ultra™ covers 52km with 4,000 metres of elevation. This is challenging skyrunning with sections of very rough terrain, scrambling, considerable height gain and airy ridge traverses. It promises to be one epic and memorable day out in the Scottish Highlands.

5. Discover wild Scotland

The Salomon Ben Nevis Ultra™ will also take you off the beaten track. Soon after starting in the village of Kinlochleven, you will plunge into the wilderness with amazing views of the more remote munros: Sgùrr Eilde Mòr, Binnein Mòr and Binnein Beag. Explore some excellent trails and enjoy some superb running through beautiful, wild Scotland!
